The Covid-19 pandemic has forced organizations serving citizens and businesses to react quickly to prepare solutions to contain the infection and quickly identify the disease. With our expertise in effectively applying Artificial Intelligence to advanced analytical tools, we supported A2A Smart City in developing a solution to diagnose the infection quickly and remotely.
A2A Smart City designs technological and innovative solutions to improve the quality of life for citizens and businesses, working in various fields, including:
safety, from video surveillance to litter abandonment to public and personal safety;
infrastructure, with technological and sensor support for fast and secure data transport;
environment, promoting innovative disposal and energy-saving solutions;
water, through remote sensing, leak detection, and districting of water management;
mobility: by optimizing urban mobility and implementing smart parking systems, A2A Smart City is a contributing member of the LoRa® Alliance and can establish LoRaWAN® networks at the European level in accordance with other members of the globally spread organization.

PROPOSED SOLUTION
Covid-19: early diagnosis and assessment
In order to provide A2A Smart City with highly functional and reliable solutions and support the country in countering the spread of the virus, we have collaborated with various public and private entities, implementing two projects for the diagnosis of Covid-19 and related diseases through the use of tools based on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The tool we used is Dimasdia, which leverages Computer Vision and Machine Learning and, therefore, the ability of AI to accurately interpret images. The system can provide rapid diagnosis of early onset of the disease by analyzing lung X-rays and detecting any alterations in cardiac kinetics.
Results
A highly reliable system that supports doctors and institutions in the fight against the pandemic
The creation of a web platform equipped with the state-of-the-art Dimasdia tool has provided evidence-based solutions for the clinical management of Covid-19 patients. The developed models have proven to be highly efficient, achieving 90% accuracy, and are being further refined to ensure reliability in line with clinical standards and requirements.
